Watershed Based Resource Management Strategy (posted July 17, 2024)
As part of the provinces initiative to make CA’s more transparent on the delivery of our programs and services, CA’s were required to generate several documents (five in total) to be posted to our website prior to the end of 2024. One of these was a Watershed Based Resource Management Strategy (WBRMS).
The goal of the Watershed Based Resource Management Strategy is to act as a road map for the LTVCA to move forward with maintaining existing, and design and deliver new: cost-effective programs and services that protect people and property from natural hazards and climate change impacts; protect municipal drinking water sources; conserve and restore natural resources; and provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and education opportunities across the watershed.
The LTVCA took a draft document to our Board of Directors on June 20th, 2024, with the attached document updated representing the latest version of the strategy. In the initial stages of this project the community was asked to provide input. This input has formed part of the development of this document. But it is now time for a draft preliminary document to be brought forward to community members for final input into our future path forward. Thank-you in advance for your review of this document.

Feedback on Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum (posted June 14, 2024)
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority, in collaboration with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Foundation, have undertaken the revitalization of Ska-Nah-Doht Museum and construction of a new Indigenous Community Learning Centre at Longwoods Road Conservation Area in Mount Brydges, Ontario. This work is a result of community consultation over the last decade. As we approach the completion of this phase of construction we are once again seeking community feedback regarding Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum’s mission, vision, values, and programming as we head into the museum’s next 50 years!
The current revitalization and construction plans will include:
- 2000 square foot addition
- accessible washroom
- a limited use limited application lift
- kitchen facility
- additional public and rental space
- safety upgrades
- Potential Future Work:
- new artifact storage
- new staff offices
- additional gallery space
Please take the time to participate or share our public consultation! We appreciate everyone’s time and feedback as we continue to develop, grow, and learn together.
