A principal mandate of the LTVCA is to protect life and property from natural hazards such as flooding and erosion. This means ensuring that development does not impact natural hazard lands nor interfere with wetlands or watercourses within the LTVCA’s jurisdiction.
Our officers are designated under the Conservation Authorities Act for the purpose of enforcing Section 28 of the Act as Provincial Offences Officers. They can inspect, investigate and report on complaints of non-compliant development activities within the LTVCA’s watershed. They can also inspect and ensure compliance of the terms and conditions of LTVCA permits that have been issued.
Note, the online form is NOT for conservation area complaints. If your complaint is in regards to a conservation area, please contact us at [email protected] or using our contact form.
Before submitting your complaint, please read and acknowledge you understand the following:
Once you submit your complaint, you will not hear from us unless we have additional questions. Please do not ask us for the status of your complaint. Active investigations are subject to privacy legislation and cannot be shared.
We do not respond to the following complaints:

Tree cutting may be subject to your local municipality’s or county’s by-laws, which means you need to contact your local municipality/county. The only time tree cutting would be within our purview is if it’s within a wetland area.
Contact your local municipality.
Please raise the concern respectfully with your neighbour. This is a civil matter over which we have no jurisdiction.
I have read and understood the above and would still like to submit a complaint.
