DESCRIPTION:Get outdoors and try something new! Snowshoe rentals will be available at the Resource Centre / Ska-Nah-Doht Museum for $8 + hst per pair on Sunday\, February 1\, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. weather permitting. Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum will be open to the public during this time.\n\n\n\nSnowshoeing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors\, have fun\, connect with nature\, and get in some physical activity.\n\n\n\nReminders:\n– parking is $5 by coin or credit card at the auto-attendant at the front of Longwoods Road Conservation Area\n– snowshoe rentals are $8 + hst per pair (cash preferred)\n– final rental 30 minutes before the end of the rental day/period\n– do not wear high heeled boots\n– stay on the trails or in open spaces\n– do not go into the wooded areas\n– wear light layers\n– bring water along\n\n\nLocation:\nLongwoods Road Conservation Area\n8348 Longwoods Road\nMount Brydges\, Ontario\nN0L 1W0

She has a PhD in plant ecophysiology\, studying the biochemistry of plant mycorrhizal interactions. Jill worked for 16 years as the Rhizosphere Ecologist at the Ag Canada\, Lethbridge Research Centre in Lethbridge\, AB\, Canada\, before moving to the USA and starting her own consulting company- Rhizoterra Inc. With a strong interest in food security and sovereignty\, Jill had started working with NuLeaf Farms (system design and AI-based automation for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA))\, developing grow recipes for leafy greens\, fruits\, vegetables\, and medicinal and ceremonial plants. \n“I have worked all over the world in large-scale organic and conventional fruit and vegetable production\, dryland and irrigated grain cropping\, and vineyards. My current project is trying to grow soil-building\, nutritious forage crops to supplement grassfed cattle in south central Kansas\,” Jill shares. \nJill consults with individual farmers\, corporations\, and agencies\, and conducts workshops that offer practical knowledge and understanding of what characterizes healthy soil\, the practices that foster soil health\, and how to measure success using simple and easy tools. Most importantly\, we always have fun while learning.
