Springer Lake Reservoir – Main Boat Launch Dock

Please join us for some wicked fun as our paddling community swap brooms for kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards (SUPs) to stir up some witches’ brew at Springer Lake reservoir dressed in Halloween costumes.
Should you wish to participate please bring your human-powered pleasure craft, paddle, along with the appropriate safety equipment.
Please ensure that your costume doesn’t restrict your movement, ability to swim and stay buoyant should you happen to fall in the water. Ideally your PFD or lifejacket will be worn under your costume.
This is an informal event, participants are welcome to come and go throughout the event. Participants will launch on or near the main boat launch beside the parking lot next to Springer Lake reservoir. Please commence paddling in a large circle at the bottom end of the lake near Springer Rd.
Group photos will be taken for website and social media circulation. Please consult the Facebook Group @southwesternontariopaddlers for information on past events and to view images from this year’s event. Southwestern Ontario Paddlers Facebook Group is dedicated to bring like-minded paddle enthusiasts together to enjoy safe use of personal pleasure craft in our geographic area.
Sharon Creek Conservation Area has two parking lots:
– The parking lot beside Springer Lake reservoir is intended for participants to load and unload their personal pleasure craft.
– Please park in the parking area by the trail entrance should you wish to come out and watch our paddlers.
Parking at Sharon Creek Conservation Area is $5 (depending on app availability) or by Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority Annual Parking Pass.
