Join us as we clean up the Thames River and McGregor Creek!
Location: Thames Grove Conservation Area
34 Kingsway Drive
Chatham, ON
N7L 2S7
Date: September 30, 2023
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Bring your kayak or canoe down to the Thames Grove Conservation Area to help collect litter from our waterways! If you are not a paddler and want to help out, come and collect litter from the river banks and surrounding areas. While this is a free event we request that you register on Eventbrite so we know to expect you.
Paddlers must bring/wear a PFD and have proper canoe/kayak safety gear. Please bring your own reusable water bottle and a lunch if you plan on staying the entire time.
Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise will be helping check you in at the Thames Grove Conservation Area – 34 Kingsway Drive in Chatham. At this Municipal Park there is a great boat launch and docks where the boats can go right into the Thames River. At ‘check-in’ we will be providing you with garbage collection bags donated by Lloyd Bag Co. Once you’ve filled your bag, return to the Thames Grove launch area to weigh throw out the trash. We will have garbage and recycling bins on site.
If you collect the most litter by weight, you will earn a free 2023 LTVCA Conservation Area Parking Pass!
If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
