Fly on by Longwoods Road Conservation Area this March Break for Drop-In Bluebird Box Making ($10 per box) on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Munsee-Delaware Cabin from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.! Our team will help you put together your Bluebird Box and share information about these special birds while you enjoy the sounds and warmth of the woodstove.
When you are done creating, take a hike or Ska-Nah-Doht Village (a short walk from the cabins).
Parking is $5 by coin or credit card at Longwoods Road Conservation Area entrance auto-attendant, or by LTVCA Parking Pass.
Eastern Bluebirds live in open areas and meadows that are surrounded by trees. These small thrushes thrived in 1800s- as farmland was created, so were new habitat and nesting sites. In recent years Eastern Bluebirds have faced a loss of habitat and nesting area as cities expand and farmland decreases. They also have to compete with birds that have been introduced to the area like Starlings and House Sparrows.
