Thanks to the Good Work of the Shrewsbury Community Association in Organizing these presentations.
Presenters will include representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, The Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority and the Municipality of Chatham Kent.
Community representatives from Erieau, Rondeau Bay Estates and The Rondeau Bay Waterfowlers are invited as well and anyone living close to the Rondeau Bay Shoreline.
Shoreline development has been a contentious issue for some time.
Over the past 20 years wetland habitat protection has become a priority of modern society and laws governing alterations close to or within wetlands reflect those priorities.
A goal of this presentation will be to increase our understanding of the sensitivity of Wetland Ecosystems to disturbances like dredging, infilling, septic leaching and spreading invasive species by vehicle disturbance.
Topics will include the importance of shoreline habitat and the legal responsibilities of landowners who own property within Provincially Significant Wetlands.
Learn how to enjoy your property while protecting the environment.
