Comber – With Spring Migration in full swing, visitors came out to the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority’s (LTVCA) Big “O” Conservation Area in Comber, for a guided hike and wild bird release on Saturday, May 7. Area birder Paul Pratt led the hike, spotting several warblers including Chestnut Sided, Yellow-Rumped, Mourning and Bay Breasted to name but a few. This unique property is great for a quick walk through the unique swamp forest!
With Father’s Day approaching, our new 2022 Conservation Area Parking Passes make great gifts. These passes provide access to all public Conservation Areas including Longwoods Road /Ska-Nah-Doht Village, Sharon Creek and CM Wilson Conservation Areas. Fees collected go back into these properties to improve user experiences. Staff have recently installed new boardwalks, signage and trails at many properties and continue to make improvements across the watershed.
New for this year, people can purchase these parking passes online at our website: https://www.lowerthames-conservation.on.ca/conservation-lands/seasons-day-use-permits/
Manager of Conservation Lands and Services- Randall Van Wagner states – “These properties are a valuable community resource that provide a healthy outdoor experience for area residents and visitors to our region. Parking passes make great gifts while at the same time support a good cause.”
