Opportunities and grants for urban spaces, rural landowners, and farmers in Southwestern Ontario to restore land using tree planting, wetlands, tallgrass prairies, and agricultural programs.

Do you own land and want to restore it for future generations?

Whether you own a small urban property or acres in the country, are a city dweller or a farmer, you can be a part of restoring land within Southwestern Ontario for generations to come.

Not sure if you own land within the LTVCA boundaries?

Environmental stewardship is the responsible use and protection of the natural environment through sustainable practices and conservation efforts. In short, it involves protecting the natural environments that already exist, and rebuilding and restoring the ones that have been lost.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has several programs to bring the land and water within its area back into balance. No matter the size of your property, we can help you with programs large and small โ€ฆ every bit helps!

Environmental Stewardship Programs for General Landowners:

Tree Planting

Want to plant more native trees on your property? We sell seedlings for big and small planting projects, and teach you how to help them thrive.

Wetlands

Do you have a larger, low lying property and are interested in restoring it to a wetland? What do wetlands do, anyways? Weโ€™re here to help you every step of the way.

Tallgrass Prairies

Tallgrass Prairies can be planted on sites big and small within the city or out in the country, and provide land restoration as well as pollinator habitats.

Environmental Stewardship Programs for Agricultural Landowners:

Are you a farmer or agricultural landowner who is interested in increasing crop yields and implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs)?

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has tons of education and grants available just for farmers and agricultural landowners to enhance and restore the health of their land and waterways.
